We have spent 3 intensive days in an adventure therapy program, the aim of which was to reduce the effects of burnout and identify the causes of it. It was led by representatives from “Eži Events” and the Latvian Association of Occupational Therapists. The program took place in the picturesque Augstroze lake, where nature, adventures and experiential education were combined with therapeutic discussions – in group and pair activities. The participants experienced a hike with swamp shoes, an expedition of silence, skiing across a frozen lake, and went home with valuable insights and ideas to implement in their daily lives.
Both the participants and program leaders agreed that such a program is necessary in the future and really serves its intended purpose.
